Frequently asked questions

What is the gold price today?

The dashboard shows the latest available USD spot-gold reference per troy ounce, together with its source status and UTC timestamp. It also converts the same reference to grams, kilos and major currencies.

How is the gold price per gram calculated?

One troy ounce equals 31.1034768 grams. The per-gram price divides the ounce quote by that weight after currency and purity are normalized.

Why do spot gold and COMEX futures differ?

Spot is an over-the-counter reference while COMEX is a dated futures contract; interest rates, carry and delivery expectations create the basis.

What moves the gold price?

Real yields, the US dollar, monetary-policy expectations, risk demand, ETF flows and physical-market conditions can all influence gold, with relationships changing across regimes.
